symptoms

Here is a quick list of the many symptoms of GERD I have experienced over the years, beginning with the most obvious:

  • cough
  • acid indigestion
  • dripping / burning sensation in mid esophagus 
  • choking sensation in throat
  • general malaise
  • large air bubbles in esophagus
  • pain in esophagus eased by burping
  • aspiration
  • aching sensation in esophagus
  • chest pain
  • inability to sing more than several bars due to irritation in esophagus
  • indigestion increase during exercise
  • shallow voice caused by indigestion, particularly present when doing physical labor that involves frequency of bending over (installing flooring, working on lawn mower, gardening, etc)
  • shortness of breath
