self treatment
As stated previously, medical treatment for my GERD has been spotty. While I am thankful for Nexium and Zegerid, I hate the reality that I need this medication daily to maintain a modicum of normal esophageal comfort (no burning). Although my doctor says that this treatment is safe and I seem to have no side effects, my immediate goal is to be able to reduce my 40mg a day to 20mg a day. Eventually, I would like to totally be free of this medication. I believe that goal is possible.
